This new hybrid is the product of crossing Limonium Sinuatum (regular Statice) with Limonium Perezii, hence the Sinzii name. Ulike regular Statice, the stems of Sinzii grow completely flat, making them easy to pack but giving great volume when crisscrossed. These colorful branches are essential for bouquets, corsages and other flower arrangements. What we may call the flowers of Statice are really colorful, papery calyxes which surround the true flowers. The calyxes keep their vibrant color, making Statice one of the favorite flowers for dried arrangements. They come in many colors, but purple is the most popular. Our statice is cultivated from "tissue culture" plants, which makes for flowers of very uniform color and excellent vase life.
