Description

Delphinium is one of the few flowers in nature available in true blue colors. The name delphinium is derived from the Greek word delphis, which refers to the dolphin-shaped flower buds . There are several species with different flower forms and spike sizes. Varieties belonging to the Elatum group have taller, fuller spikes and are known as "Hybrid Delphinium". Spikes have clustered double or semi double blooms and come in several shades of blue, lavender, pink and white. They add height and a vertical element to make spectacular flower arrangements. Unlike other Hybrid Delphiniums of the Elatum group, Triton and Ariel series have slender stems, making them more suitable for use in bouquets and arrangements.
