Delphinium Sea Waltz

Delphinium is one of the few flowers in nature available in true blue colors. The name delphinium is derived from the Greek word delphis, which refers to the dolphin-shaped flower buds . There are several species with different flower forms and spike sizes. Those varieties in the Belladonna group, have single flowers on airy spikes that can be used as fillers or accent flowers. Waltz varieties come from tissue cultured plants and have long spikes of single blooms with a rich and even color. Larger varieties belonging to the Elatum or Cultorum groups have taller, fuller spikes with double blooms, and are usually known as “Hybrid Delphinium”.
